Let’s Do Lunch – 3TL (Third Tuesday Lunch)
See the Calendar on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for up to date information
Anyone in the church or the wider Weston community who is in the region of their sixth decade – or above – is welcome at 3TL.
This excellent meeting place has been operating for nearly 20 years providing a monthly highlight in the church’s provision for over 60’s and anyone else that wants to join us.
We meet at 10.45 am on the third Tuesday of each month in the All Saints’ Centre in Weston High Street. Members normally number around 60-80. Our time begins with coffee, biscuits and an opportunity to chat. New friends are quickly assimilated and the welcome team’s helpers ensure no-one is left out.
The more formal part of the morning begins with an introduction which includes some jokes and amusing stories. A speaker is introduced who will give a 30-40minute presentation of general interest, or alternatively some form of musical entertainment may take place. The talks will often be locally focussed and trigger considerable interest, interaction and reminiscences.
Following this everyone enjoys lunch before we close at around 1.00pm. The happy buzz of conversation throughout indicates that both the team and the members enjoy the time they share together.
The 3TL team keep a register, everyone wears name badges and so introductions are easy. 3TL is self-financing with members making a small donation when they arrive.
The 3TL team co-ordinated by Graham and Beryl Leigh, is made up of approximately 15 volunteers who share the various tasks. Our annual programme is planned many months in advance and normally includes a summer outing.
