Where there is no vision the people perish

MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER over the next few years

After a year of prayer, consultation, listening to God
and discernment we believe that these are the three
main godly goals for us to pursue together:

Finding fresh ways for us to move out and for others to move in
Expand and develop the way we engage with others
outside the church, with other churches in our
neighbourhood and through our mission partners
with the world

Growing as disciples and followers of Jesus
Help people to become, at every stage of life and in all
our activities, more effective disciples and followers
of Christ

Re-Imagining Our Church for the Kingdom
Consider how to ensure all our buildings help us in our
goal of engaging with the contemporary world and
encouraging worship, mission,
community and closeness
to God in them

To do these things we aim to be a church that
changes lives through the transforming power of God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit and by building a community that is:

Generous
in the way we give to others, relate to one another,
practise hospitality, support other churches –
to be a giving, sending and resourcing church

Courageous
in taking risky decisions; in stretching ourselves
as we seek to be more than we are now

Accessible
in our ways of working, not stuck in what we have
always done, open to the Spirit, responsive to him,
and our culture and community

Honest
and open with one another, in speaking of our faith
and our experience; in facing up to difficult questions;
in admitting when things do not appear to work or be
going well

Creative
especially in our approach to mission and worship,
exploring fresh ways of prayer and intimacy with God,
communicating the Gospel both to fellow Christians
and to those standing outside or passing by

So let us…
pray these things into being and work as individuals and members of the different teams
and groups at All Saints to bring these godly goals into being; renew our commitment to God
and to one another; love and serve our community in and through the transforming power
of God’s grace and so build his kingdom together here in Bath.

‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord,
‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.’
Jeremiah 20:10

Sir Francis Drake’s Prayer
O Lord God, when thou givest Thy servants to endeavour
any great matter, grant unto us also to know that it is
not the beginning, but the continuing of the same unto
the end, until it be thoroughly finished, which yieldeth
the true glory; through him who by the finishing of
Thy work laid down His life, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ,
AMEN
