What are we about in All Saints Childrens and Youth Ministry?

Children are in an  amazing  developmental stage in their lives where they are learning and adopting principles that will guide the rest of their lives.  We want our children to ENJOY and EXPERIENCE an EVERYDAY God.  We want to grow their faith through introducing them to the living person of Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible.  We strive to make our gatherings enjoyable for kids – communicating faith and the Bible in a fun, positive, relevant, enthusiastic and creative way.

Youth Minister,
Sky Cady

Sunday Morning Children’s Groups

Here at All Saints we are in the privileged position of having nearly 70 children in the under 11 age bracket.  All of our programmes are based on Bible teaching, having fun, and growing in community.  Activities are done that help the children to think for themselves about who God is and His amazing love for us.  The first week of every month we do not have groups but we meet as a whole church family for the “All Sorts Service” in the church building.  Periodically we gather all the groups for kids worship in the church centre on a Sunday morning before splitting into groups.

Creche and Tots (0-2yrs)

0-2 year olds – Sunday Mornings @ 10:30
We meet in the Vestry (room to left of pulpit) in the church during the morning service. The side chapel is a good place to be, so you can participate in the service as long as possible.  We are hoping to get more formal crèche arrangements later this year.

Current Numbers: 10

Tumblers (2-3yrs)

2&3 year olds – Sunday mornings @10:30
We meet in the Garden room in the church centre during the morning service term time.  The children do “Godly Play” where they are told a story using wooden figures.  They are then given a chance to explore the story in creative ways.

Current Numbers: 16

Climbers (3-5yrs)

School Years 0-1 – Sunday Mornings @ 10:30

Explorers I (6-10yrs)

School years 2-5 Sunday Mornings @ 10:30
Explorers I meet in the Courtyard  Room in the church centre during the morning service during term time.  We aim to give children an opportunity to experience God and respond to what He is saying through creative prayer, craft, drama and discussion. We know that head knowledge is important but try to show the children that God is also looking for a heart response. Having fellowship with their peers is vital to keep children strong in their faith. We are in our first year of having an all boy group. We love it!! Through your prayers we hope to nurture and bless the children as they discover the incredible person of God for themselves.

Baby Group

Mother and baby group – Mondays 2-3pm (under 1yr)

For the grownups there is good coffee (?) and delicious cake.  We are very grateful for our wonderful team of ladies from the church who come along each week to serve us.  We would love to get to know you better at one of our termly social nights out at the local curry house.

Infinity Club

Infinity Club Weekly in Weston All Saints Primary School
Infinity Club is for children aged 7 to 11 at WASPS school. It happens at lunchtime. Through a combination of craft, games and discussion we share a message about God. For us this provides a unique chance to talk in very small groups about Jesus. We have some very chatty children and some very quiet children but there is always time put aside for everyone to read something from the Bible and to pray. Some of these children have no church connections at all. What a privilege to be able to spend time with them.

Leaders:  Gaynor Williams
Current numbers: about 15

School Parties

At the end of each term we invite our local school children from reception through to year three to a huge themed party. We have fun, eat a great tea and also hear about how God loves us to bits! It is the same simple message again and again. God is real, God loves us, He is closer than we think and He wants to get involved in our lives. Through a varied mixture  of craft, singing, games and storytelling we share a biblical truth in a way that is relevant to children who may have very little knowledge of God. Parties are held on a Sunday afternoon. The dates for parties in 2012 are March 25th , July 1st and December 9th.

The Gathering

School Years 7-12

Multi Church Youth Event, Last Sunday night of every month 7-8:30pm @ Ascension Church

The Gathering is a multi church youth event run by some of the leaders from All Saints Weston.  Our goal is to have a night of fun where you can invite your friends.  Each month is a different style of games, free food, activities, music, and a short message about God.  There are usually 40-80 youth in attendance from 5-10 churches across the city of Bath.  We have done "THE CUBE" gameshow, giant scavenger hunt, cardboard castle wars, bouncy castle and sumo suits, backyard barbeque with football game on.  There are stories that young people share about how they came to believe and follow Jesus.  There is usually also some form of music or video that young people can participate in - worshipping God.  This night is not necessarily aimed at mature Christians, but is a place for christians to bring their non christian friends in a welcoming and exciting atmosphere.  We usually meet as a group and drive together over to the church.

Tuesday nights @ 7pm in the Garden Room at the Church Centre
