Discovery bible study
I have been using this simple bible study for a few years now and it has become my go to place for helping people engage with the bible and respond actively. Why not give it a try and let me know how you get on. It’s only four questions.
Pick a bible passage (works with anything but especially good for the first few if it is story based). Read the passage, then ask someone to retell the story in their own words, it is amazing what people remember.
Then ask these questions (you can mix it up, but start with these, consistency is good and people get the pattern quickly)

What does this tell us about people?

Is there an example to follow or a command to obey?

What are you going to do with what you have heard?
Tips: Let people talk, don’t rush, allow the Holy Spirit to do his work through the word.
