All Saints Centre
We have been recycling our waste at All Saints Centre for a number of years now, but have recently taken more steps to ensure that we think carefully about avoiding waste, reusing items if we can and then expanding on the items that we recycle. We do our best to ensure that our customers segregate their waste and recycle as much as possible too. We currently recycle the following: paper, cardboard, plastics, tins, bottles, batteries, light bulbs, foodwaste, textiles. We also collect biscuit wrappers and food pouches for a local charity.
We have just undertaken a programme of changing all the lightbulbs in the Centre for more energy efficient options. This is not a straightforward process and there is a sizeable cost involved. But we are working on this as a gradual process on a room by room basis. By switching to LED 240v downlighters will be using 85% less energy than the existing halogen 12v units that were installed in the building in 2001.
More to follow soon. July 2019
