In the UK
Mercy in Action has several projects working with the vulnerable and those at need in the UK. We are committed to coming alongside those in need to empower people to grow, realise their potential, improve their quality of life and wellbeing, as well as promoting social inclusion.
Clothesline – providing clothing, food and resources for families in need
Petra – housing homeless young people, including specific homes for young mothers and mothers to be
Launch – working with young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) to build their skills and confidence, and reintroduce them to the workplace
Action Pantry – providing food to families in need
In the Philippines
Mercy in Action works with street children and families living in poverty in the Philippines. We are committed to rescuing vulnerable children from abuse, neglect and the dangers of the streets. Through feeding, education, shelter and love, we alleviate suffering and see people freed to live happier, healthier and safer lives. We work with families and the wider community to see real transformation and lasting change take place.
We currently sponsor over 420 children to attend school and have three children’s homes providing long term residential care for around 30 children. In 2014, we opened the first ever rescue home for trafficked boys in the whole of the Philippines. We have a drop in education centre for street kids, providing education, fun and food, and run various Bible studies and support groups for women, men and youth from local slum areas.
We believe this would be an ideal job for someone who would like to use their excellent creativity, communication, relational and administration skills to further the Kingdom of God and help those in need.
